The World of Women?

Yesterday an ex-StarHub colleague shared with me that besides losing his job, up till now he can't find a GF because of his unstable job. He lamented that most girls nowadays are very realistic & go for a guy who is rich & capable, well... at least with a good paying stable job. Not to forget that he's already past 30, so its kind-of like a marriageable age where girls want to find that stability, on top of liking that guy.

He was very sad when he shared that some of guy friends got dumped by their GF when they lost their job. He said that girls nowadays wouldn't want to be with a guy who is poor & not able to afford this & that. Especially when the girl herself can do so & may be doing much better.

In fact, I want to add that its easier for girls to find a job (even side-line jobs) nowadays because the opportunities for females is just so great... if they are willing to do it. Think about it - bar top dancing can bring up to $400 a night (according to what I read in The Straits Times recently)... being a part time model can fetch a few hundred dollars too... most front-line jobs prefer females (I remember me & another colleague from StarHub got turned down for a customer service job solely because the department preferred females)...

There are other jobs like car show room models, tons of magazine bikini models, bar tenders, beer promoters, slimming centre ambassadors, Newpaper weather girl, massage therapists, swimming coaches, personal trainers, etc. In fact, some guys are afraid of going into industries like massage, swimming & trainers because some selfish & heartless girls will take the chance to scream molest & demand compensation. Believe me, I have read about it before in our local newspapers.

It kind-of pricked me that the Singapore Sports Council have also recently promoted their Fitness Instructor Course (FIC) & Aerobics Instructor Course (AIC) at a 50% discount for females! Solely because their statistics show that there are not enough females instructors in Singapore. This means what? Too many guys, the industry prefers girls & probably the lost of many opportunities for men. Argh!

To go the extreme, some girls & foreigners go the extreme of becoming social escorts & even prostituting their bodies for favors & cash. Its odd that we read about newspapers & journals citing sexual harassment in the workplace & making it a big 'hoo-ha'. Yet why is it that only the 'bad' side is revealed, but not the 'good' side? How about the incidents where women flirt in the workplace & seek favors so as to get higher salaries & climb the corporate ladder? Why is this not mentioned? Why is there a tendency towards putting guys at a disadvantage? And the girls in the lime light?

Personally, I find it very sad to read about female foreigners selling their bodies for like $30 - $40 Singapore dollars. Of course, the conversion rate is high when brought back overseas... but still? Where is the respect for themselves? Or is money more important than respect nowadays? Even if its just the simplest dignity that they should at least give to themselves?

Seriously, I wouldn't be surprised that side-line jobs like tuition may become regarded as outcast jobs of society in the next few years. I mean, what for have to teach the same boring stuff again & again to boring kids & get paid a few hundred dollars a month... when they can earn that same amount or more in a single evening?

Its so terrible to see the world changing in such a horrendous manner. People are just getting so full of themselves & don't give a care in the world about others. Even religion becomes a wonder whether its a need nowadays. Its totally unseen & so much around that blinds our eyes. And Satan laughing all the way throughout the universe...

Getting a glimse of all these makes me thankful for a GF like Rebecca. I mean, I have spoken to so many guys & not one of them said that such a girl is easy to come by nowadays... not even in Singapore. In fact, such girls have become regarded as DINOSAURS! Supposedly to be extinct from the face of this Earth! In Mandarin, they call them "Jue2 Zong3", i.e. almost extinct.

A couple of my guy friends have came up to me after these few years, telling me that I'm just so so blessed to have a GF like Rebecca. Of course, not every guy like such girls, but the point is that they still hope for such sincerity & faithfulness in a girl. Sadly, most of them found none. Often, I just don't know what to say in reply to them, except just smile & be thankful in my heart.

It is really no surprise why Singapore guys are turning to foreign women, coz the local kind reject them. And some of these foreign women are also out for their money & property. So many girls out there are just searching for the perfect job, perfect salary, perfect prospect, perfect guy, perfect future, etc. Never contented, seldom thankful... & always moving onto something better. Yet even a mentally slow person like Forrest Gump can say that "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."
