Jack’s Lousy Candles

This evening, Rebecca & I went for dinner at Jack’s Place at Parkway Parade to celebrate our 55th month together in our courting relationship. It was our second time eating together here.

I had crayfish & chicken combo meal & Rebecca had the steak & catfish combo meal. I can’t remember how this mutual practice came about, but whenever we have a meal together, we would always share food items which the other party does not have on his / her plate. In short, for the same price, we would have double the variety to feast upon! Yeah!

One ‘highlight’ that we would always pay attention to whenever we visit Jack’s Place, is their candles. We haven’t eaten at Jack’s Place at other location outlets, but this particular outlet has fascinatingly ‘eager-to-die’ candles!

Within 15 minutes of being seated, the candle would have burned till half already! And by the time we finished our meal, the candle would be on the verge of ending its life by ‘flame extinction’. Shocking!

We would always watch in disbelief… & amusement, while eating & chatting. Twice in two times that we visited this place & sat at the same table… the same thing happened – our candle died before we left the place.

Jack’s candles are lousy! I have never seen candles that burn out so fast before! My silly attempt to throw in a small piece of fresh flower petal & a little green pea which I didn’t eat from my plate… didn’t work either. I just couldn’t find any way to prolong the life of Jack’s miserable ‘kamikaze’ candles…

Still, with history repeating itself again at Jack’s Place, it was a fun & meaningful dinner that we had together. I really thank God for this wonderful girlfriend… =)
