A Noble Cause

I was taken aback when my Mum shared something with me last night. She told me that my brother told all his church friends not to buy him any presents for his 21st birthday… just give him red packet, coz he wants to give it all to support several missions’ funds.

As usual, when I heard that, I acted cool & steady, since I have always knew that my brother’s heart lies in missions. But in reality, this piece of news shook me quite a bit, coz I have never heard of anyone who would take the initiative to tell people not to give him birthday gifts for his 21st birthday, but give him money in red packets, so that he could channel this money into missions’ funds!

Not that I wouldn’t do that myself, if I were in his position, but I guess I really never expected something this drastic… based on his own initiative. It is indeed a very noble act & truly admired him for this. Thinking about it, it kind of makes it even more meaningful & memorable as his 21st birthday in this way. *Salute*.
